Delete your HopWit account

You can delete your account at any time. It’s permanent and can’t be undone.

In the app (fastest)

1. Open HopWit and tap the You tab.
2. Tap Account, help & sign out.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account is deleted straight away.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app or your phone, email app@hopwit.com with the subject “Delete my HopWit account”, and include the mobile number on the account. To protect you, we’ll confirm the request with a text to that number before deleting. We complete requests within 7 days.

What’s deleted

• Your profile, photo, settings and sign-ins on every phone.
• Your location history and saved places, plus family circles where you were the only member.
• Your trips, forwarded booking imports, posts, photos, videos, likes, comments, follows, questions and answers.
• Your one-to-one chats (for both people) and your contact matches.

What may remain

• Messages you sent in group chats stay visible to the other members, but no longer show your name.
• Reports you made, and safety records about content you posted, may be kept without your name where we need them to keep others safe or to meet the law.
• Our encrypted backups are overwritten within 14 days.
• Anything other people saved or screenshotted is outside our control.
